Top performers at Hitters Top Prospect Camp
CALEDONIA – Some players didn’t let the opportunity to be seen slip by them last weekend at the Hitters Top Prospect Camp. Wisconsin natives made a name for themselves in front of scouts from across the country, and the next batch of impact performers showed glimpses of their potential throughout the camp.
Of the Wisconsinites attending the camp, several stood out with strong tools. Kenosha Indian Trail’s Alex Huissen flashed one of the strongest arms out of all position players with a velocity of 88 mph, followed closely by Port Washington’s George Klassen at 87 mph. Huissen also had one of the fastest 60-yard dash times at 6.87 seconds.
West Bend East catcher Joey Spence impressed with a pop time of 1.95 seconds, which was the best at the camp. Of the pitchers, few compared to Grafton’s Tommy Lamb. The sophomore not only had some of the fastest velocities in the camp, but some of the best command as well. Sussex Hamilton’s Eric Erato showed strong command of three pitches, and Klassen had the highest velocity on a fastball of anyone at the camp at 89 mph.
