15. Luxemburg-Casco

Last week: 15

After going 2-0 last week, the Spartans are 7-1 this spring. They swept Wrightstown in conference action to push their conference record to 5-1. Their offense has cooled down just a little bit, but their pitching has only allowed more than three runs in a game once this year. They have Marinette on the schedule twice this week, as well as a doubleheader against Kingsford (Mich.).

14. Hortonville

Last week: 12

The Polar Bears went 1-1 last week to move to 6-1 this spring. They took their first loss of the season against Fond du Lac on Tuesday but bounced back with a nice win over Oshkosh North (honorable mention this week) on Thursday. They have games against Neenah, Appleton North and Fox Valley Lutheran this week.

13. Beaver Dam

Last week: Unranked

The Beavers are off to a 7-0 start to the season following a sweep of Slinger last week. Their offense has been strong so far this year. They’re averaging 7.4 runs scored per game, and they’ve scored fewer than 7 runs in only one game so far. They’ll face their toughest tests of the year to date this week. They’ve got two games against No. 8 Arrowhead, as well as a weekend tournament that also features No. 1 Janesville Craig and Waunakee (5-1).

12. Eau Claire Memorial

Last week: Honorable mention

The Old Abes enter the top 15 this week. They went 2-0 last week to push their record to 5-0 overall. They swept Rice Lake, outscoring the Warriors 19-3 in two games. Arkansas commit Tanner Kohlhepp paced the offense in the series, going 4-for-8 with two extra-base hits. Memorial has a two game series against D.C. Everest this week, as well as a game against Lakeville North (Minn.) on Saturday.

11. Jefferson

Last week: 11

The Eagles are 6-0 this season after winning all three of their games last week. They swept a two game series against East Troy by outscoring the Trojans 30-3. They followed that up with a 10-7 win over Division 1 rival Fort Atkinson. They’ve got a slew of tough games on the schedule this week, highlighted by battles with Beloit Turner (honorable mention this week) and Westosha Central, and some other tough teams at the DeBoer Diamond Classic tournament in Waupun.

10. Kimberly

Last week: 5

The Papermakers are 2-3 overall this season, but 1-1 against Wisconsin competition. They lost to Oshkosh North (honorable mention this week) last Tuesday, and beat Appleton East on Thursday. They’ll have a chance to rebound this week with games against the likes of Kaukauna and Oshkosh West.

9. Wausau West

Last week: 7

The Warriors didn’t get to play last week, as both of their games against Stevens Point were rained out. They are 1-0 against Wisconsin teams, with their lone game being a win over Bay Port on April 7. They’ve got games against Wisconsin Rapids and Rhinelander on the schedule this week.

8. Arrowhead

Last week: 10

The Warhawks only got to play one game last week. They beat Hartford to run their record to 2-1 this spring. Hopefully the weather starts improving, because they’ve got five games on the schedule this week. They’ve got two games against Beaver Dam, one against Hartford, and a doubleheader against Verona.

7. Oconomowoc

Last week: 9

The Raccoons won their three games last week to extend their overall record to 5-1 this season. They beat Catholic Memorial in a tight conference game, and beat Merrill and Pulaski in non-conference play. They will have two games against Wisconsin Lutheran this week before squaring off with No. 4 Sun Prairie on Friday.

6. Burlington

Last week: 6

The reigning state champions finally got to take the field last week for a doubleheader, but only got to finish one of the games. They beat Westosha Central 3-2 and were leading the Falcons 9-8 after four innings in game two before the game got postponed. If they have better luck with the weather this week, they’ll face Badger twice during the week and Racine Horlick on Saturday.

5. Green Bay Preble

Last week: 8

The Hornets are 4-0 this spring after going 3-0 last week. They swept two games from conference foe De Pere and also beat Gladstone (Mich.). Their pitching staff has been as good as advertised. They’ve allowed an average of only 1.75 runs per game this season. If the weather doesn’t interfere too much, Preble should have a busy week. They’re scheduled to face Green Bay East/West, Pulaski (twice), and Manitowoc Lincoln.

4. Sun Prairie

Last week: 4

The Cardinals went 2-1 last week, and their record is now 6-1. They dropped a 9-8 thriller to No. 1 Janesville Craig on Tuesday, but rallied with wins over Janesville Parker and Beloit Memorial later in the week. They will face Madison Memorial (5-1) on Tuesday and Madison West on Thursday before playing No. 7 Oconomowoc on Friday.

3. Eau Claire North

Last week: 3

The Huskies did not play any games last week, so their record still sits at 5-0. Last year’s state quarterfinalists are scheduled to play Hudson on Tuesday and Thursday this week, but rain in the forecast may affect those games as well.

2. Kenosha Indian Trail

Last week: 2

The Hawks, like many teams in southern Wisconsin, got completely washed out by rain last week. They are 1-0 this spring, with their lone victory coming over Westosha Central. They will travel to Florida this week for a few games between Tuesday and Thursday.

1. Janesville Craig

Last week: 1

The Cougars picked up a big-time win over No. 4 Sun Prairie on Tuesday, beating the Cardinals 9-8. Craig is 6-0 this spring and is living up to preseason expectations. The Cougars have scored nine runs or more in five of their six games. They have games against Baraboo, Beloit Memorial, and Madison Memorial this week.
