Gavin Lux, Ben Rortvedt Selected in MLB Draft

Kenosha Indian Trail shortstop Gavin Lux was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 20th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.
Lux is the first prep player from Wisconsin to be drafted in the first round since 1979, when Nekoosa's Kevin Brandt was picked by the Minnesota Twins.
The big-swinging shortstop batted .524 for the Hawks this spring with nine doubles, three triples and six home runs. He tallied 30 RBIs and stole 23 bases, and his on-base percentage was .658.

Verona catcher Ben Rortvedt was picked by the Minnesota Twins with the 56th overall pick in the Draft.
Rortvedt was the second Wisconsin high school player selected in the 2016 Draft, behind Lux. He batted above .400 for Verona this spring and helped lead the Wildcats to the sectional finals.
