Plover Stumbles Against Michigan Squad

The Plover Black Sox saw their American Legion World Series aspirations take a hit late Saturday night, suffering a 14-1 defeat at the hands of Midland, Michigan.

There weren't many positives to take from the performance. Midland outclassed the Sox from the beginning, pouring on eight earned runs against Plover starting pitcher Alex Lee.

Plover's only consolation run came on an RBI single from Connor Zblewski in the 6th inning.

Plover will face Newburgh, Indiana on Sunday in an elimination game.
